Welcome to the Baldock Horticultural Society!
Baldock Horticultural Society was first established over 100 years ago and today remains as strong as it ever was, supported by over 140 members. We usually meet on the third Wednesday of each month, starting at 7.45pm, at Brandles School, Weston Way, Baldock, SG7 6EY, where there is ample parking and a warm welcome for all. Membership costs just £4 for the year whilst visitors pay £1 for the evening. New members may join at any time but annual memberships are renewed at our AGM.
As an affiliated member of the Royal Horticultural Society, our Society aims to promote an interest in all things horticultural, but you don’t have to have a garden or be an active gardener yourself, to enjoy the wide ranging programme of speakers each month on all sorts of gardening topics with many practical tips always available.
We also organise reasonably priced coach outings.
We organise two Shows each year, one in Spring for members only and an open show in early summer which maintains the long tradition of the Society in the town. We also hold a plant stall in May at the Baldock Street Fair from which some of the funds raised go to the gardening clubs of five Baldock primary schools to support and encourage young gardeners of the future.
